About our Trust

Clinical staff moving a patient through the hospital

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the two largest hospitals in the county, Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals, as well as Stroud Maternity Unit.

These specialist hospitals provide emergency care, specialist inpatient care and outpatient appointments to our urban and rural communities within Gloucestershire and further afield.

In July 2004 we became one of the UK's first NHS Foundation Trusts. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated is as 'requires improvement.' Visit our press releases page to find out more.

As one of the first foundation trusts, we pride ourselves on our engagement with our Members and have an active and involved Council of Governors helping us be more responsive to the needs and wishes of our local community.

More information about our structure and organisation and the information we routinely publish can be found in our Freedom of Information pages. Our Annual Reports, Operational Plans, Equality Reports, Quality Accounts and key trust strategies are available on our Publications page.

You can also read the wider NHS Constitution here, which sets out what staff, patients and the public can expect from their NHS.
