Seldom heard communities

'Seldom heard' is a term used to describe groups who may experience barriers to accessing services or are under-represented in healthcare decision making.

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to working in partnership with patients and communities who experience health inequalities to help reduce these, and to promote environments that are fair and free of discrimination.

Some of our recent initiatives include:

Developing our relationship with the Transgender Community and educating our staff

Providing support and interpreting services for patients with sensory impairment

Providing a range of support to Carers for patients with a number of conditions including learning disabilities and dementia
