Charity Christmas Cook Book

The Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity cook book is about to hit the shelves! With over 70 recipes the book hosts favourite dishes from the staff at the hospitals, kindly contributed by the midwives, secretaries, ward staff, chefs, IT staff and managers who proudly work here.

There is an eclectic mix of recipes, with Brazilian Salt Cod Cakes sitting alongside Indian favourites such as Vegetable Bhajis and the mostRecipe Book traditional of British desserts, Apple Crumble.

Split into four sections Starters, Main Courses, Desserts and Something Sweet, the cook book offers something for every palate.

Priced at £5, you can get your copy of the aptly named “NHS – Now Have Seconds!” by emailing the fundraising office, visiting the volunteers desks at both Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General, and through the Sainsbury’s Tewkesbury Road supermarket.

All profits from the sale of the book go directly back into the Hospitals Charity, here are some projects we are raising money for at the moment:

Wireless monitors for the Maternity Department - so that women can be mobile whilst still having their babies continuously monitored. These monitors also allow women to labour in water if they so wish.

Dementia friendly signage - which will be positioned around both hospital sites, to enable those suffering with dementia to feel more secure in the hospital environment.

Reclining chairs for the Medical Day Unit - so patients coming into the unit to undergo blood or iron infusions can have their treatment in comfort.
