Gloucestershire Shared Service for NHS show their support for children with epilepsy
When GSS4NHS heard about the Hospitals Charity’s EPIC fund, which provides extra care and equipment for young people with epilepsy, they decided to make a difference by raising funds.
With a dress down day, silent auction and sweepstake to fundraise for EPIC, the team raised an incredible total of £600 to boost the EPIC fund.
“We are delighted to be able to make this donation to EPIC and to learn more about what they do. We support a different charity each month, and EPIC was nominated by one of our employees, for whom EPIC is a vital support.“ Lauren Worsley.
There are approximately 500 children and young people with epilepsy in Gloucestershire, supported by our paediatric epilepsy service based at Gloucester Royal Hospital. Donations to EPIC help to provide extra care and items over and above the NHS, funding everything from specialist diagnostic equipment to counselling sessions which provide short term mental health care for children and young people diagnosed with epilepsy.
Our thanks to all those who supported the team’s fundraising, including Gloucester Quays, Ruby Bee Candles, The Paint Pot Gloucester, Foot Sure, 3 Choirs Vineyard, House of Fraser, Holiday Inn, Superdry, Absolute Beauty and Love the Salon, Gloucester.
