Dr Peter Jackson
Dr Jackson has worked in the NHS for 48yrs and prior to his retirement was Clinical Director of Pathology for both Gloucester Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital. Previously he was the inaugural Director of Professional & Scientific Heads of Departments within the Trust, both roles involved extensive knowledge especially with reference to local and national issues and membership of various committees.
Dr Jackson’s main area of research and special interest was in Blood Coagulation and Thrombosis. This involved him both as a national examiner and lecturing at various universities including supervising both BSc & MSc Medical Science students.
In his spare time he is involved with a Hospital in Malawi, an active member of Rotary, RSPB Warden at Symonds Yat Rock engaging the public and monitoring the Peregrine Falcons and a committee member of the R100 Morgan Sports Car Club.
He said: “As an elected governor for the Forest of Dean I believe my knowledge and experience will contribute to the working of the Trust and to deliver and maintain a quality and consistent patient care service. I am delighted to have been appointed to the Trust Quality Committee.”
