Patient's Choice Award 2012
The new Patient's Choice Award is part of an annual Staff Awards scheme run by our Trust, which runs Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH).
For the first time this year, we are giving patients and the public an opportunity to have their say and recognise the NHS staff who have made a difference to their lives.
Designed to recognise the efforts of those special employees or groups of staff who demonstrate exceptional patient care, patients can nominate any nurse, doctor, midwife, therapist, receptionist, porter or other member of staff who looked after them during an out-patient visit, day treatment or longer hospital stay at our hospitals.
David Smith, Director of HR and Organisational Development said:
“This new award aims to recognise individuals or groups whose commitment and dedication ensures that exceptional care is delivered to our patients.
“Our Trust is lucky to have so many extraordinary members of staff and this award gives local people the chance to acknowledge those special individuals who go the extra mile in the course of their work.
“If you have been impressed by the care and treatment from an individual or team and feel they deserve to be recognised for their dedication in providing high quality care, please nominate them today.”
Before making a nomination, we would ask people to consider:
- Did the staff member, ward or team make your visit to hospital as comfortable and stress-free as possible?
- Did they explain what would be happening to you during your stay?
- Did they take the time to discuss your concerns, or find someone who could?
- Were they caring and attentive to your needs?
- Did you find them approachable, pleasant and helpful?
If the answer to one or more of these points is yes, then go to our website www.gloshospitals.org.uk and nominate by clicking on the Patient Choice button and filling in a nomination form. Nominations close on July 30th.
