Snow and Ice : Patient update

A spokesperson said:

“Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT) has robust plans in place to minimise disruption caused by bad weather such as the snow and ice over the last 24 hours.

“Where it is safe to do so patients who have a planned operation, outpatient clinic or procedure on Monday 11th December 2017 are being advised to attend as usual unless you hear from us directly to advise otherwise.*

“Those patients who are unable to attend due to the weather conditions are being advised to contact us in advance by:

  • Contacting the named person/department on their appointment letter/card.
  • Contacting the hospitals trust main switchboard on 0300 422 2222.

“During periods of bad weather such as this our A&E departments at Cheltenham and Gloucester are extremely busy and we would urge patients only to use A&E if their condition is life threatening or serious. Patients with minor injuries or less serious conditions should access alternative health services where they will often receive care in a more effective and timely manner. Visit or download the ASAP app for more information.”
