Gloucestershire Royal Hospital has confirmed a case of legionnaires disease, a severe form of pneumonia, in October.

It's believed the patient may have picked up the infection at the Severn Dialysis Unit.

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust described it as an "isolated event". It says the risk of further infection has been removed and a review is being carried out.

Was admitted straight from Rapid Access Chest Pain outpatients clinic. Within 24 hours I had to have three cardiac stents fitted. From my initial experience of arriving at hospital, to leaving was exceptional. Of course, I'd prefer not to be ill, but the doctors, nurses and all the staff I came into contact with were all very pleasant hard working people. I'm now back home, very relieved that I'm here at all!! Thank you to all at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Hospital/Clinic

I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 10/8 and started treatment within 9 days. The staff at every point have been amazing and after 6 sessions of chemo in the oncology unit I can't praise the staff highly enough. They work so hard and are always so caring, cheerful. Treatment isn't over yet, but I hope the experience continues to be positive. Thank you.

You wouldn't want to hear what I think. Every situation is different for each individual but I have bad experiences all the time. This time I will be speaking to someone higher.

Went to bed on Sunday, only to wake up an hour later with chronic abdominal pain. At midnight my wife then drove me to A&E, and I was seen within 20 minutes by a nurse, and then given pain relief. Continued on a trolley for 7 hours, with very regular checks by staff, and more pain relief. Transpired I had a kidney stone, which passed through albeit with alot of more pain !! Eventually allowed to go home at 7.30am after been checked out by the specialist who also was able to do a scan on my kidneys with a mobile scanner in the unit. I cannot fault the staff and hospital in any way, and I wish all of them a very Merry Christmas (even if they are having to work !)
