Gloucester and what you did not know about the City (Citizen)
Article states: Gloucestershire Royal hospital was born from the NHS post war initiative. Originally it started from being a 149 bed infirmary on Western Road in 1914 to treat soldiers that were injured from war. Then when the NHS came in the Gloucester City hospital on Southgate Street merged with the infirmary on Great Western Road to become Gloucestershire Royal Infirmary.
