He said: “The local trust seems to be blaming patients for making bad choices, but will the Prime Minister find out why so many 111 calls end in A&E, why trusts such as ours route so many unplanned admissions through A&E and why emergency doctors cannot be provided at night in Cheltenham, all of which seems calculated to make normal winter pressures worse?" The PM responded: “Gloucestershire has had £3.6 million of the £700 million of winter pressure money that we have produced, and it should use that money to make sure it provides the best possible service it can".

Visit to Opthalmology

On Friday 2nd January 2015 I visited Glos Royal Opthalmology Dept with my 97 year old mother Phyllis Bartlett. I would like to extend my grateful thanks to Jane Hardman and her colleague who treated mother with such patience and understanding. Not only did they find her a cushion to support her back but they made her a cup of tea and took their time explaining what was going to happen with her angiogram. Although it was a difficult experience for mother they both made sure that they made her as comfortable as possible. Shining stars of the NHS.

Complaint about ambulance crew who picked me up from archdeacon street and took me to Cheltenham hospital on Sunday 28December

The ambulance crew were extremely rude and would not help me into the ambulance and the woman spoke to me as if I was a nuisance whilst I was being transported in the ambulance and I was being sick and she shoved a bowl in my face

Elizabeth Watkins

Edward Watkins admission to A& E on Monday 22 Dec.

I would like to say a very big Thank You to all the A&E Staff who treated my husband on the 22nd December 2014. He collapsed on a train in Gloucester station. We were traveling from Newport to Notttingham at the time. The Paramedics were called and they arrived very quickly and examined my husband. They admitted him to Gloucester Hospital. My husband was treated with such care and professionalism by everyone. We were all treated with such respect too. Please pass on our thanks to all your Staff: A & E. The Assessment Centre and Ward 9a. Thank you so much.

Website - Battledown Ward

I was just looking through the site about wards at CGH and see that Battledown Ward is still mention as having a day unit etc. Battledown Ward closed in February 2014, and only the outpatient service exists now. Who is responsible for making sure information like this is up to date?

Susan Cleaver - Frank Reeves

My father has had a massive stroke leaving him paralysed down one side and unable to move . He is being discharged and a care package arranged for the day but no night facilities. The staff are aware that my mother is in the process of being diagnosed with dementia and needs 24 hour care herself. My father has no washing facilities in place other than a downstairs toilet but is being discharged on 31st December to go home. I want to put in writing that I am not happy about this as I feel the provision is inadequate and I am concerned for both of their safety and wellbeing., I feel at the very least he should go into some rehab unit to prepare him for his new life at home. Please respond asap . thank you.
