Our new Route 99 bus Service

Our 99 shuttlebus service was launched on Monday 14th August 2017 and links Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals (GRH & CGH) with Gloucester and Cheltenham centres and the Arle Court Park and Ride five days a week (Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays). 

As part of the revised service, the new bus stop is opposite the main entrance of the Tower Block at GRH. The bus stop outside the Pathology Department at CGH has also moved to the main bus stop nearby on College Road. 

Service enhancements

  • From four bus stops to eight                                                      
  • Extended service (6.35am – 7.50pm)
  • Larger buses (more passengers)                         
  • Low emission (EURO 6)                                    
  • WiFi enabled, USB + Socket charging for devices         
  • Runs five days a week (Mon – Fri)

Other bus services

The revised 99 shuttlebus will serve Gloucester City Centre, a new Park & Ride stop in Cheltenham as well as stops in Cheltenham Town Centre. The aim of incorporating these new stops to the service is to enable staff and patients from all over the county to easily connect with existing local bus and Park & Ride services (including Cheltenham Racecourse routes D and E which run every 8-10 minutes) into the town centres.

Travelling by bike or motorbike

There are cycle racks next to all principle entrances at Cheltenham General. Motorbike parking is available near the entrance to the Emergency Department (A&E). 

At Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, bike racks can again be found near all the main entrances to the site. 

Travelling by train

Gloucester Railway Station is less than ten minutes' walk from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
