Friends and Family Test at our hospitals
The Emergency Department and wards at Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital are piloting the new Friends and Family Test, to be introduced throughout the NHS from April 1st.
From April, patients who are discharged from both Emergency Departments and all inpatient wards will be asked whether they would want a friend or relative to be treated at our hospitals.
They will be asked, ‘how likely is it that you would recommend this service to friends and family? And their responses will be shared with staff and patients.
Wards participating in the pilot are Cardiac Care Unit, Dixton Ward, Emergency Department at CGH, Lilybrook Ward, Ryeworth Ward, Ward 2a, Ward 3a and Ward 8a.
Department of Health timings for the full rollout are:
- Acute hospital inpatients and accident and emergency patients from April 2013
- For women who use maternity services from October 2013
- As soon as possible after October 2013, for all those using NHS services.
