Minor to severe life threatening infection

Review doses in renal impairment

 

PIPERACILLIN-TAZOBACTAM 4.5g iv tds 

Treatment duration: typically up to 5 days

CIPROFLOXACIN  400mg iv bd

plus

METRONIDAZOLE 500mg iv tds 

Treatment duration: typically up to 5 days

 IV to Oral Switch

If an oral switch is appropriate:

CIPROFLOXACIN 500mg po bd

plus

METRONIDAZOLE 400mg po tds
