Areas of expertise

Dr Makins qualified in Medicine from University College London Medical School in 1998.

She held posts in several specialities, including Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine, before deciding to specialise in Anaesthesia, with a specialist interest in Pain Medicine.

The majority of her Anaesthetic training was completed in North London at University College London Hospitals, The Royal Free Hospital and associated hospitals.

In 2008 Dr Makins relocated to Gloucestershire and completed her Anaesthetic and Specialist Pain Training between the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Children’s Hospital, Frenchay Hospital and Gloucestershire Hospitals.  She now works as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, holding clinics at both Gloucestershire Royal and The Dilke Memorial Hospital.
