Areas of expertise
Mr Mason is an orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in hand, wrist and upper limb surgery.
He qualified in Cambridge and undertook his general surgical training in Bath, Bristol and Newport. His orthoapedic training was in Southampton and at the end of this he had the opportunity to work in Sydney, Australia for year's fellowship with Prof Tonkin specialising in hand surgery.
As well as treating common hand, wrist and shoulder disorders, he has an interest in children's hand disorders and the management of spasticity in the upper limb, including cerebral palsy. I also have an interest in hand injuries and have established a hand trauma clinic. All my clinics are attended by specialist hand therapists who provide important aftercare following hand surgery.
Mr Mason and his team operate at Gloucestershire Royal and Tetbury Hospitals.
