Myocardial Perfusion Scan
This is a test to show how well the heart muscle is being supplied with blood. To find this out, pictures of the heart during resting and after stress are taken.
Shown below, is a typical example of a series of images produced from a myocardial perfusion scan. As with many nuclear medicine scans a gamma camera is used to build up an image and the colour is added afterwards to aid with interpretation.
