Most outpatient clinics are run under the direction of a consultant specialist with a team of doctors, nurses or other health professionals, who are responsible for your care.
You may not always see the named consultant when you attend as an outpatient, but the doctor, nurse or other health professional who your appointment has been with, will make them fully aware of your condition.
Outpatient Departments can be extremely busy at times and whilst every effort is made to keep clinics running on time, due to the complexity of some conditions and required treatments, clinics sometimes run late. Unforeseen emergencies can also cause clinics to run late. Notification of delays of longer than 30 minutes will be clearly displayed on the clinic notice board. You may also need to wait if you have tests and/or investigations which need to be analysed and the results passed to your doctor.
In addition to Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust run Outpatient Clinics at numerous locations accross the County.
A Park & Ride service is available from Cheltenham Race Course (Route 99) to Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals. This is available every weekday (excluding Bank Holidays) running approximately every 30 minutes. The last bus leaves Gloucester at 7.25pm & Cheltenham at 6.55pm.
