Text Message Reminders
For most of our Outpatient clinics we offer appointment reminders in the form of text messages. You can receive a text reminder two weeks before your appointment, giving you the opportunity to change or cancel your appointment, with another text being sent the day before your appointment. Please let the Booking Office staff know if you would like to receive text reminders, their telephone number is on your Appointment Information Sheet. You can also tell the receptionist your mobile number.
Frequently asked questions
Will anyone else have access to my mobile phone number?
No, all mobile numbers are stored securely. As with other personal details, we do not pass confidential information onto third parties.
Will the text messages be private?
We will not send any sensitive information by text, and you can always tell us if you don't want us to text you.
Can I reply by text if I can't make my appointment?
No. There will be a number in the text to call if you need to cancel or change your appointment, or if you require any further information.
Will I have to pay for the text?
No, unless you are out of the UK, in which case your mobile provider may charge you to receive the text.
