Links for Professionals

We are building a collection of web resources which may be of use to professionals involved in Pain Management, and will be adding more pages.

The British Pain Society has a number of useful resources and publications on its website , as has the Faculty of Pain Medicine

The Faculty of Pain Medicine has produced a very useful set of modules on pain education which are grouped at their e-pain webpage, and has content useful for professionals involved in care of patients with pain. On the FPM website is also a very useful set of information on guidance on the use of opioids, called Opioids Aware, which is highly recommended.

The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) have recently published a series of guidelines on management of chronic pain, and as part of this have produced a good general booklet on pain management for patients

The Pain Community Centre in Cardiff has a number of very useful podcasts of CPD lectures on pain.  Some of these are at a level that patients too may find them very comprehensible and useful.

The British Pain Society has produced a useful book on cancer pain management that can be downloaded here (we confess some bias since James de Courcy and Ann Young wrote some of it!).  There are also very useful cancer pain guidelines from the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN).
