  • This test is performed in cases of Bornholm's Disease, costochondritis (Tietze's syndrome), pericarditis, myocarditis, endocarditis, and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease
  • A viral swab of any hand, foot and mouth lesions is of more diagnostic value in this condition
  • Enterovirus PCR on CSF is the optimal test for Enterovirus meningitis
  • This test is also part of the following viral screen sets:

Serum - paired samples not required

8.5ml of blood taken into a plain gel tube 

8.5mL BD Vacutainer tube
