AMSPAR - Medical Terminology Course
Are you a Medical Secretary, Ward Clerk or an Administrator dealing with medical terminology?
AMSPAR - City & Guilds Medical Terminology Course (Level 2) could be the course for you. It will develop your knowledge and skills, provide you with the confidence to use medical terminology daily and can help you progress further in your career.
How do I learn?
The course runs for 12 weeks and is completed online with support of a mentor. There are assessments throughout the course inluding revisions tests & completion of past papers.
What are the topics?
- Basics of medical terminology - word building
- Common Roots, prefixes and suffixes
- Major bones of the body
- Perscription writing and abbreviations
- Medical Specialities and personnel
When does the course start?
Monday 11th August.
How much does the course cost?
Lifelong Learning are funding this course therefore there will be no cost to you or your department.
How do I register my interest?
We are holding an awareness session on Monday 28th July from 10am - 11.30am in the Lecture Hall at Redwood Education Centre, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Please either email Lifelong.LearningTeam@glos.nhs.uk or call GRH extension 5176 to confirm your attendance.
