Medical Physics

Medical Physics is an area which involves the application of science and technology to patient care.

Although opportunities for work placements are limited due to the work pressures within the department, applications are welcomed and considered on a case by case basis from students seriously considering a career in Medical Physics*.

There may also be opportunities for students who are nearing the end of their undergraduate Physics course to complete a work based project within one of the Medical Physics departments. Applications are again reviewed on a case by case basis and the availability will depend on the work projects that are underway or planned at the time of application.

If interested please email a CV and covering letter (addressed to Lucy Blandford) detailing the benefits of work experience in medical physics to Lifelong.LearningTeam@glos.nhs.uk

Note also that the website of the professional body, the IPEM, has a lot of useful information regarding careers in Medical Physics http://www.ipem.ac.uk/Home.aspx
