Quality Summit: Patient Falls (26 November 2024)

22 Oct 2024, 4:32 p.m.

We are holding a Quality Summit on 26 November 2024 at Sandford Education Centre, Cheltenham General Hospital to explore a number of issues identified through investigating patient falls.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues from Gloucestershire Hospitals to identify issues and take forward quality improvement initiatives with the intention of having positive outcomes for both patients and colleagues.

On 26 November, together, we will explore the issues arising from falls in depth with staff who carry out the work thereby ensuring we are looking at the issues as ‘work as done’ rather than how it is envisaged. We will also be learning about improvements in the past year relating to patient falls and the proposal for investigating falls using hot debriefs.

What is a Quality Summit?

A quality summit is a multi-disciplinary collaborative of staff and stakeholders, who together use their collective knowledge and wisdom to explore complex issues with the intention of bringing about measurable and sustainable improvement, through the coordinated use of systems based diagnostic approaches and quality improvement methodology. All staff are welcome!

Following the quality summit we will be supported by the quality improvement team and Gloucestershire Safety and Improvement Academy (GSQIA) to prioritise the issues and take forward the agreed quality improvement projects.
