As our current Trust strategy expires, we are looking ahead to define our future.

A refreshed strategy will help shape who we are, what we do, and, most importantly, why we do it. To achieve this, we need your input to understand what matters most to our staff, patients, and communities.

Why a new strategy?

The NHS and our hospitals face evolving challenges and opportunities, making it essential to develop a strategy that reflects these realities. Over the past five years, we have faced:

  • A lower Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating.
  • The COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The cost-of-living crisis.
  • An ageing population and increasing health inequalities.

Alongside these challenges, we have completed complex service reconfigurations and invested over £100m in building programmes and service improvements. However, significant work is still needed on many parts of our hospital estate.

How you can get involved

We are eager to hear from our communities. We will be hosting workshops, visiting districts with the NHS Information Bus, and encouraging everyone to share their views through our online survey.

Your feedback matters. Tell us:

  • What is working well and what needs improvement?
  • Your experiences with our services.
  • Your ideas for improving health and care in the future.

The survey results will be analysed to identify key themes, ensuring our new strategy aligns with what matters most to those we serve.

We will provide regular updates on progress and key findings. Thank you for helping shape the future of health and care in our community.
