Works at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in March
Improvement works at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in early March may cause some disruption to affected areas. Signage for alternative routes will be in place. This does not affect the main entrances and exits to the hospital.
Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 March: London Road Courtyard Closure
The London Road Courtyard entrance area at GRH will be closed off from 8am Monday 3 March until 8am Wednesday 5 March
These works are to facilitate the delivery of the new MRI modular unit via a crane lift. The unit will arrive in a number of segments via articulated lorries one at a time, to the London Road Entrance where they will be craned into place.
This will mean there will be no access for vehicles or pedestrians (including staff and patients)
- No main roads will be closed as part of this work. However, please be aware that there may be some disruptions when transporting the articulated lorries on and off site. This disruption will be likely caused due to turning/reversing lorries around the area and slow speed of travel.
- Other entrances throughout the hospital will be available for patient and staff use.
- There is a potential that there will be a closure of some disabled bays adjacent to the London Road entrance on Tuesday 4 March only.
Monday 10 to Thursday 13 March: Discharge Lounge walkway
The pedestrian walkway from the main building to the Discharge Lounge at GRH will be closed for work for 4 days, from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 March.
- This will not affect people collecting patients from the Discharge Lounge by car
- Signage will be in place showing alternative routes
- The walkway will be open as normal from Friday 14 March
