About the awards
Each year, our staff awards aim to recognise the hard work, dedication and amazing care given by both individual colleagues and teams at our hospitals.
Message from our Chief Executive, Kevin McNamara
In my first year as Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Hospitals, it’s been fantastic to be able to spend time visiting services and seeing firsthand the great work that takes place every day in our Trust. It’s therefore a huge honour to take part in preparations for this year's Staff Awards and to be able to read all of the nominations before embarking on the tough job of helping choose the shortlist and winners.
I’ve always been proud to work in the NHS, working with outstanding people every day, serving the community. These awards really bring into focus the difference you all make – saving lives and changing lives.
Our awards also recognise that we can only do what we do as part of a wider team and so they are about rewarding those who exemplify the very best Trust values and behaviours - caring, listening, and striving for excellence. They are a chance to acknowledge and say thank you to the great role models who others often look to at some of our most challenging times.
Whether you are being recognised as part of a team or as an individual, each of you plays a crucial role in the GHNHSFT family, putting compassion and patient care at its core.
But it is also true that these awards only represent a snapshot of the extraordinary dedication and professionalism that our colleagues demonstrate across the Trust. We received over 850 nominations this year and it was tough to choose from them but I hope they serve as inspiration to us all about the difference we can make when we work together.
Thank you for all that you do and for the opportunity to work with you. I hope you have a fantastic evening.
Message from our Chair, Deborah Evans
As Chair of Gloucestershire Hospitals, it is always a privilege to take part in our Staff Awards. When I visit our hospitals and engage with our staff, it fills me with confidence for the future of both our patients and the NHS as a whole. Despite the ever-changing external challenges, it’s our people—dedicated and passionate—who remain committed to delivering exceptional care for our patients and serving our communities.
The individuals and teams recognised in our awards this year, while worthy of celebration, are just a few of the many who have made an impact. Throughout the year, numerous colleagues are honoured in their fields, present their work at major events, share their expertise, and volunteer their talents locally and internationally. Although there are too many to name individually, their contributions and hard work do not go unnoticed and are deeply valued.
These awards give us the opportunity to pause and acknowledge the remarkable efforts at all levels of our organisation. Congratulations to our shortlisted candidates, this year's winners and all those who continue to make a difference every day.
