Cultural icon of the year
Who has influenced our culture and made the Trust a better place? This could be through work promoting cultural diversity and inclusion, encouraging us to become more sustainable or simply providing a fantastic example for others in their team or the wider Trust.
Rumbai Sutcliffe
Moving and Handling
Former critical care nurse Rue is an educator in the Moving and Handling team, as well as holding a position in the Freedom to Speak Up team. One colleague described her growth, adding that Rue is not only proactive, efficient, and hardworking but also someone who is unfailingly kind-hearted and a wonderful presence in the team.
A star in the training room, there is a constant stream of positive feedback for Rue's ability to capture the audience, taking the time to get to know colleagues and asking how they are when she sees them around the Trust. Rue is also an advocate and support hub for overseas colleagues, able to offer a helping hand and comfort to people who are still adjusting to an incredibly large life-change.
One colleague commented, “I believe Rue is the very definition of this award and embodies everything this organisation strives to be on a daily basis.”

Bridget Moore

Radiotherapy Services Manager Bridget is a radiotherapy radiographer by profession. She consistently displays the behaviours to which the organisation aspires, working hard to put her staff and patients at the centre of what she does and always ensuring staff are part of the solution. Recently, Bridget has worked with colleagues to develop a departmental Behaviours Charter, with staff consistently reporting that this has made a positive improvement to the way they work together as a team.
Bridget has also focused on social activities to support the team to grow together, including a lunchtime Picnic in the Park in August and a Food Around the World experience. Bridget was also instrumental in creating a shared space for use as a Prayer Room by female staff who can wait a long time to access the Trust Prayer Room.
