Dr Elinor Beattie
Virtual Wards
Emergency Medicine consultant Elinor Beattie has been working as Clinical Lead for the Virtual Wards programme for the past two years. Elinor strives for success and above all the passion to treat patients at home who would otherwise be in hospital, putting patients at the heart of everything she does.
The Virtual Hospital now has nine wards in total including surgery, Frailty, Respiratory, Heart Failure and Acute General Medical pathways. The service is not only well known within the Trust but also a whole-system approach with collaborative projects across Gloucestershire. Colleagues commended her leadership of this programme, which works closely with specialty teams to increase the numbers of patients being treated at home.
Elinor was described as someone who listens and offers support to others, and whose insight allows everyone to maintain momentum and enthusiasm.
Sophie Davies
Urology
Sophie is one of the Urology Cancer Nurse Specialists specialising in bladder and renal cancer. She not only works extremely hard but her dedication to her patients and the entire team was also highlighted as ‘phenomenal’. Colleagues described her as “an absolute delight to have on the team”, going on to say that she is adored by patients and valued by the rest of her team for her consistently positive personality and cheerful attitude.
Robert Rehak
Ophthalmic Imaging
Practice educator Robert has not only enriched the learning experience for students in the ophthalmic imaging team but also elevated the standards of the entire team.
Robert's approach to teaching is both innovative and compassionate. He has a unique ability to break down complex concepts into easily digestible information, ensuring that students not only understand but are genuinely excited about the material.
To the wider ophthalmic imaging team, Robert has supported them to significantly improve their efficiency and quality, while his knowledge and expertise have made the team stronger and more cohesive. One colleague commented, “Robert has shown me the importance of empathy, patience, and a deep commitment to the success of others, values that I will carry forward in my own practice.”
