Environmental (garden) projects
Our green spaces can be an oasis for those needing to escape from the busy hub of the main hospital environments
We're making improvements to our hospital sites to enhance their potential for health, well-being, and biodiversity – creating a stronger connection with nature. The various green spaces both within and surrounding our properties can provide a range of benefits to people and wildlife.
Our Grounds Manager works closely with Arts Coordinator Anoushka Duroe-Richards to create garden spaces in hospitals and medical centres for all staff, patients and service users to enjoy.
The Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity
Thanks to your support, new green spaces have been created across our hospitals sites, including our Wildflower Trail and other projects including:
- Our Commemorative Gardens; created as a way to remember the lives lost during the pandemic and to thank our dedicated NHS teams for everything they did to care for our community
- Our Forget-Me-Not Garden; for anyone affected by baby loss
- The Sanctuary Garden; a safe space for patients to relax and recover.
