Our Big Plus Fund
We have created the Big Plus Fund to help support local projects that will improve the patient experience and transform the hospital environment wherever the need is greatest. From transformative sky ceilings to creating safe spaces, state-of-the-art equipment to outdoor green places. Your support can help make a big difference!
Transforming outdoor spaces
We aim to fund much needed outdoor space at our hospitals, transforming areas into tranquil gardens where staff and patients can go to relax and take a break from indoor ward environments.
Our current priority is to create a Baby Remembrance Garden to help support anyone affected by the loss of a baby. This calm and peaceful area will be a much-needed safe space for reflection.
"It will be somewhere for people to go, so they can sit and reflect and where they can take family members. Also, it’s important for staff at the hospital, who have also gone through baby loss, that it will be an area for them as well. It is going to be a space for everyone." Nikki Dobson, Bereavement Specialist Midwife
State-of-the-art sky ceilings
We want to install twenty sky ceilings across our hospitals to help transform clinical areas. This state-of-the-art technology can provide a welcome distraction for patients recovering from surgery, in emergency situations and receiving cancer treatment.
"Many patients feel very anxious about their treatment sessions and the sky ceilings have made the world of difference. They draw attention away and give patients something reassuring to focus on." Ali Williams, Focus Support Centre Manager
Creating safe spaces
We want to help improve the environment in areas where patients may need extra support. They could be going through a difficult time, undergoing treatment or just need a space for quiet reflection.
