Our Forget-Me-Not Garden: A place of healing opens thanks to your support
Parents, loved ones and NHS staff affected by baby loss now have a calm and peaceful space to sit and reflect in nature at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The concept for the garden was initiated by midwives at the Trust, who recognised the need for a space where families could visit and find solace.
At the heart of the Forget-Me-Not Garden stands our beautiful memory tree, designed and forged by local artist Clare McHugh. The brass and copper leaves can be personalised with special messages of remembrance. Each leaf will be displayed on the tree for two years, after which it will be gifted back to the family as a treasured keepsake.
This green space was funded thanks to our incredible supporters who went above and beyond. We would like to say thank you for the generous in kind support of Kier and its supply partners who completed the groundworks and other projects for this green space. Thank you to our GMS Team and all of the community groups, businesses, volunteers and individuals who supported, including a special thank you to the Forget-Me-Not group who have helped make this important space a reality.
