Biography
Dr Jarad completed his clinical and research training in London and was awarded a PhD from London University (Imperial College).
He worked in Bristol where he founded and lead the Cystic Fibrosis Centre, the community COPD service and Bronchiectasis Service.
He established the South West Lung Volume Reduction Service using endobronchial valves and coils to treat emphysema.
He was the Training Program Director for General Medicine in the South West. He also chaired the General and Acute Medicine Training Committee in the Severn Deanery. He served as a Severn Royal College of Physicians adviser for over a decade.
He is a national and international examiner for the MRCP (UK)
He published textbooks, book chapters and original research included Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Fibrosis induced by asbestos, COPD and volume reduction therapies in Emphysema. He was recognised as one of the UK Leading UK Principal Investigators by The Chief Medical Officer. He is the current Honorary Secretary and the Science Secretary for the Bristol Medico Chirurgical (Surgical) Society.
