Areas of expertise
Oncoplastic breast surgery and Clinical Leadership Abigail graduated from Birmingham Medical School in 2001 and undertook Higher Surgical Training in the West Midlands, serving for a short period with the RAMC. She undertook an oncoplastic fellowship before being appointed as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at UHCW in 2013. There she held a number of leadership and educational roles including RCS tutor, clinical champion for the Veteran Covenant Healthcare Alliance, Clinical Lead of Theatres and of the Breast Service, Royal College of Surgeons Tutor, West Midlands Deanery Education Lead, Director of Breast screening and Group Clinical Director of Surgical Services. Since moving to GHFT Abigail has split her time between clinical practice and roles including Director of the Gloucestershire Breast Screening Service, and currently Chief of Service for Medicine and ED. She is passionate about improving the quality of clinical care and patient experience and addressing inequality.
