About our Adult diabetes and endocrinology team, your appointment and how to contact us
Our team
Our specialist team provides care for patients with diabetes, endocrine and blood fat (lipid) conditions, and is made up of:
- consultants
- specialist nurses
- dietitians
- health care assistants
- clerical support staff
We provide both an outpatient and inpatient service at Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH).
Outpatients
You will only be able to see our specialist nurses or dietitians in a clinic setting, if you receive your main diabetes care from our hospital team.
We provide the following outpatients services:
- general diabetes clinic
- young adult diabetes clinic
- joint diabetes and renal clinics
- insulin pump clinic
- antenatal clinic
- joint pituitary clinic
- blood fat (lipid) clinic
In addition to our clinics which cover diabetes management, you can also attend group sessions which explore education and new treatments.
Attending a clinic
There may be medical students present during your clinic, but you have the right to see your consultant alone.
You should report to reception when you arrive at your clinic. You will then be seen by a clinic nurse who will check:
- your height
- your weight
- your blood pressure
- the details of your last eye screening and foot examination
You will see a consultant during your appointment but will also have the opportunity to see the diabetes specialist nurse, dietitian or podiatrist.
