Required information

  • Relevant clinical details – exposure to cattle, sheep, goats and farms. Consuming unpasteurised milk products.
  • Date of onset.
  • Occupational history, e.g. veterinary surgeon, farm worker.
  • Travel history - particularly the Middle East

Storage/transport

Store at fridge temperature
Transport as soon as possible at ambient temperature

Turnaround time

Samples are referred to the National Reference Centre

Results can take up to 30 days.
