Suitable containers for 24 hour urine collections are available via the patient's GP surgery, from Edward Jenner phlebotomy department at GRH, or from Pathology Reception at both GRH and CGH.
Instructions leaflets for patients are provided when the container is issued
Sample requirements
Complete 24 hour urine output in a brown urine bottle:
Storage/transport
Keep cool during urine collection period. Send as soon as possible (within 24 hours) to the laboratory either via GP or direct to the laboratory.
Required information
Relevant clinical details including reason for the request, required tests and start and finish dates and times of collection. Enclose completed, signed request form with urine bottle.
