Illicit drug (drugs of abuse) confirmatory testing for medical purposes only is available through this laboratory.

Sample requirements

• A minimum of 5mL urine taken into a 30mL white top Universal
  

Storage/transport

Send at ambient temperature to the laboratory. If unavoidable, specimens can be stored refrigerated overnight.

Required information

Relevant clinical details including reason for the request. Please specify drugs requiring confirmation.

Turnaround times

Samples are sent for analysis to the Toxicology Laboratory at Sandwell and West Hospital Toxicology Laboratory Birmingham with results expected back within 10 days.

Reference ranges

Drugs reported as detected or not detected.
