  • The test is usually performed on a lymphocytic CSF
  • This test is part of the Meningo-encephalitis viral PCR screen set
  • Confirmation of Enterovirus infection may require a throat swab, stool sample and an EDTA blood sample

This will be performed on CSF samples sent for microscopy and culture

A minimum CSF volume of 200 µl is required for reliable testing.
