• This test is used to differentiate between previous infection with Herpes simplex virus type I or type II. This may be useful to determine concordance of infection between partners
• If herpetic lesions are present a viral swab is a better diagnostic test

Sample requirements

Serum - paired samples may be required

8.5ml of blood taken into a plain gel tube
