Notes
- Islet cell antibodies have been detected in 60-80% of Type I (Insulin dependent) diabetics before or at the time of diagnosis.
- Only about 20% of these patients will have detectable antibody after 1-3 years of treatment.
- Type II diabetics do not have islet cell antibodies.
