Standard charcoal transport swab
Apply swab firmly to obvious lesions
Place swab into transport medium
Required information
- Any clinical feature of suspected local candida infection – please state if recurrent
- Any clinical features of gingivitis, particularly if severe
- Presence of ulceration
- Current or recent antibiotic therapy
Storage/transport
Store and transport at room temperature
Turnaround time
Microscopy for Vincent’s Angina is available on day of receipt
Culture 2 – 4 days
