Notes
- Recently renamed as Erythrovirus
- This test is available for immunity testing in pregnant contacts of suspected Parvovirus infection (e.g. slapped cheek syndrome)
- If symptomatic Parvovirus infection is suspected, please request Parvovirus IgM
- In pregnant patients it may be possible to test a previously submitted ante-natal sample - please contact the laboratory to check
- If the patient is found to be non-immune on initial testing, a further sample 4 weeks after the date of contact will be required

Serum - paired samples may be required
8.5ml of blood taken into a plain gel tube

- Relevant clinical details
- Date of onset
- Pregnancy including gestational age
- Please state if employed in ante-natal care e.g. midwife
Storage/transport
Store at fridge temperature
Transport as soon as possible at ambient temperature
