Pneumococcal antigen in urine (pneumonia cap)

This test is used for the detection of Streptococcus pneumoniae antigens in urine.
- It can be used for diagnosis in community acquired pneumonia
- The test is not available to inpatients after 7 days admission
- The accuracy of this test has not been proven in young children

Urine
A minimum of 1ml of urine in a
30ml sterile universal container
Bottles with boric acid preservative are acceptable
