As part of our IMG programme, we’ll support your continued development and meet your learning needs. We want you to thrive when you are working for us and we have therefore designed a bespoke induction programme to support you.
E-portfolio
An E-portfolio is a log of all the activities a doctor performs during their placement. It includes procedures, assisting surgeries, Case based discussion, teaching, audits, research, and journals. Shift rotas can be added to the e-portfolio. This E-portfolio is proof of your work and is helpful during appraisal. The appraisal is important to continue your work and necessary for your revalidation of the GMC registration.
With the Paid- ISCP it's important to maintain a portfolio and be helpful for achieving training jobs in surgery. The current fee is 125 GBP per annum. More information can be found here.
Self development
Speak to your Clinical supervisor or rota coordinator regarding arranging SDT. This time is designed to work on your portfolio, mandatory training, taster sessions etc. It needs to be coordinated with the rest of the team to ensure there is a safe number of doctors on the ward.

GMC welcome to UK practice online module – half day. The GMC hold regular joint meetings with colleges for new starters.
