Graduation and Awards 30th April 2018
The 8th GSQIA Graduation and Awards Ceremony took place on Monday, 30th of April 2018 at 1:30pm in the Lecture Hall in Sandford Education Centre, Cheltenham General Hospital.
The award ceremony marked the end of the 7 month, Silver – Quality Improvement in Action Programme for 10 members of staff who have been working on 7 different improvement projects across the Trust. This event gave each team the opportunity to share their work and their learnings and for the Trust to recognise and celebrate their achievements.

Each team presented a summary of their improvement work and prizes have been awarded by Peter Lachecki in the following categories through a combination of judging panel, online and audience voting:

Best Quality Improvement Presentation
Silver Level Quality Improvement Practitioners
At the conclusion of the programme participants have also graduated as Silver – Quality Improvement Practitioners, recognised by the presentation of a Silver QI pin badge and certificate:

- Introducing a Primary Survey Report for Trauma CT scans by Sian Davies
- Emergency Radiotherapy: Streamlining the pathway from planning to treatment by Lorna Hawley and Tim Spencer
- Precious about Pressure by Sue McShane, Sue Merret, Sue Macklin and Julie Brian
- Improve MUST score completion on Guiting by 20% by April 2018 by Lisa Jones
- Reducing amount of time babies and mothers are separated when receiving IV Antibiotics on Neonatal Intensive Care Unit by Jenny Boobyer
- ‘Mindful Hand’ – anxiety and breathlessness management tool by Anna Finlay
In addition to providing an opportunity to share the learning from improvements that are under way, these events form an integral part of the Academy objective to create an ‘Improvement Movement’ across the Trust, with the ultimate ambition of creating a culture of continuous improvement.
