Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) on Hatherley Ward
The Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) on Hatherley Ward is an acute stroke ward providing specialist services for people who have had a new suspected stroke
'Rest Period with no visiting' is between 1:30-3pm daily.
The Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit aims to assess and either discharge or transfer patients to a specialised area. Patients typically remain on the HASU for up to 72 hours before being moved to a specialist ward, such as Woodmancote Ward at Cheltenham General Hospital or the rehabilitation ward at Vale Community Hospital.
We see a complex mix of patients and our multi-professional team can provide close observation and expert care.
