Quayside Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC)

Quayside Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC)
This new facility at Quayside in Gloucester will offer more than 80,000 extra diagnostic appointments each year, allowing patients across Gloucestershire to access potentially lifesaving checks more quickly, without having to go to hospital.
Diagnostic tests
The centre offers a range of diagnostic tests including X-Rays, MRI, CT, ultrasound, ECHO and DEXA scanning.
The centre has already been providing additional scans to patients from new ‘modular units’ which were installed towards the end of last year. These buildings were constructed off-site in controlled conditions before being transported and assembled at Quayside. They are providing around 400 CT and MRI scans, seven days a week, offering patients flexibility around appointment times as they are open 12 hours per day.
Blood tests
The CDC also offers a blood test service for hospital patients whose consultant or team who have requested this. This service is for hospital patients requiring a blood test if it is easier to attend Quayside rather than one of the hospital sites (Cheltenham General Hospital or Gloucestershire Royal Hospital).
Please note: this service is not available to patients attending from GP surgeries, with the following exceptions:
- Patients who are under the care of a hospital consultant
- Children aged between 6 and 11 years old
- Patients that have attended a GP appointment for a blood test but had a failed attempt
Opening Hours and telephone numbers
- From 1 September 2024, the hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 9.00am – 12.00pm. Please note, there will be no service on Wednesdays.
- Please note: Booked appointments only. Please call 0300 422 3900 or 0300 422 5293 to book. You must bring your request form, otherwise it will not be possible to take your blood.
